The introduction of 28 new panoramic coaches on the Kalka-Shimla railway line has been postponed due to technical defects. The Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety flagged issues with the air-conditioning system and other passenger amenities, requiring the coaches to be sent back to the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala for repairs. Northern Railway confirmed that the coaches will not be used for passenger service until they pass fresh trials. This delay impacts plans to boost heritage tourism on the scenic mountain route.

कालका-शिमला रेलवे लाइन पर 28 नए पैनोरमिक कोचों की शुरुआत तकनीकी खराबी के कारण टाल दी गई है। रेलवे सुरक्षा के मुख्य आयुक्त ने एयर कंडीशनिंग सिस्टम और अन्य यात्री सुविधाओं में समस्याएं बताई हैं, जिसके कारण कोचों को मरम्मत के लिए कपूरथला की रेल कोच फैक्ट्री में वापस भेजना पड़ा है। उत्तरी रेलवे ने पुष्टि की है कि कोचों को नई जांच पास करने तक यात्री सेवा के लिए इस्तेमाल नहीं किया जाएगा। इस देरी से खूबसूरत पहाड़ी मार्ग पर विरासत पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने की योजनाओं पर असर पड़ा है।
