Fortis Nephrologist Explains How To Differentiate Backache From Kidney Pain
Hindustan Times · health
Differentiating between backache and kidney pain can be challenging due to similar symptoms. Dr. Yogesh Chhabra, a nephrologist at Fortis Hospital, explains that backache typically stems from muscle strain or posture issues and is felt in the lower back, potentially radiating to the legs. Kidney pain, however, is usually deeper, located on the sides beneath the ribcage, and can indicate infections or stones. Accompanying symptoms like burning during urination, cloudy urine, nausea, or fever strongly suggest kidney issues.
