A 30-foot-high cockroach effigy burned alongside traditional figures during Dussehra celebrations in Pitampura, New Delhi, has ignited a political dispute between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The AAP filed a complaint against the Ramlila organisers, alleging hurt religious sentiments, while the BJP accused the AAP of being frustrated. Organisers stated the effigy symbolised filth and promoted cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat campaign. The effigy's burning has led to a war of words between the two parties.

दिल्ली के पीतमपुरा में दशहरा के मौके पर पारंपरिक पुतलों के साथ 30 फुट‌ ऊंचे कॉकरोच के पुतले को जलाया गया, जिससे आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) और भारतीय जनता पार्टी (BJP) के बीच राजनीतिक विवाद छिड़ गया है। AAP ने रामलीला आयोजकों के खिलाफ धार्मिक भावनाओं को ठेस पहुंचाने की शिकायत दर्ज कराई है, जबकि BJP ने AAP पर हताशा का आरोप लगाया है। आयोजकों का कहना है कि पुतला गंदगी का प्रतीक था और स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के तहत सफाई को बढ़ावा देता है। पुतले को जलाने से दोनों पार्टियों के बीच जुबानी जंग शुरू हो गई है।
