He stated that delays and negligence by officials lead citizens to question the system. Adityanath stressed the importance of linking officials' capacity building with their performance and promotions, emphasizing that competence requires continuous skill upgrades and awareness of responsibilities, not just degrees or appointment letters. He was speaking at a regional workshop in Lucknow aimed at improving training institutions.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने सरकारी दफ्तरों की अकर्मण्यता से आम लोगों की परेशानी को उजागर करने के लिए टीवी शो 'ऑफिस ऑफिस' और फिल्म के डायलॉग 'तारीख पे तारीख' का इस्तेमाल किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि अधिकारियों की देरी और लापरवाही से नागरिक व्यवस्था पर सवाल उठाते हैं। आदित्यनाथ ने जोर देकर कहा कि अधिकारियों की क्षमता निर्माण को उनके प्रदर्शन और पदोन्नति से जोड़ना महत्वपूर्ण है, और यह कि योग्यता के लिए केवल डिग्री या नियुक्ति पत्र नहीं, बल्कि लगातार कौशल उन्नयन और जिम्मेदारियों के प्रति जागरूकता की आवश्यकता होती है। वह लखनऊ में प्रशिक्षण संस्थानों को बेहतर बनाने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित एक क्षेत्रीय कार्यशाला में बोल रहे थे।
