EC Clarifies Unanimous Decisions on Electoral Rolls

The Election Commission has stated that all decisions regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls were made unanimously, addressing recent reports of internal differences. To simplify the process for voters facing discrepancies, the EC announced that individuals receiving notices will not ordinarily need to appear before an officer. Instead, Booth-Level Officers will collect documents from their homes, with hearings reserved for exceptional cases, preferably online. Special help desks and camps will also be set up for vulnerable populations, ensuring voter inclusion.

चुनाव आयोग ने कहा है कि मतदाता सूची के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन (SIR) को लेकर सारे फैसले सर्वसम्मति से हुए हैं। आयोग ने बताया कि जिन मतदाताओं को नोटिस मिला है, उन्हें अब अधिकारी के सामने पेश होने की ज़रूरत नहीं होगी। बूथ-लेवल ऑफिसर घर आकर कागज़ात ले जाएंगे। ज़रूरी होने पर ही सुनवाई होगी, वो भी ऑनलाइन। कमज़ोर वर्ग के लिए खास मदद डेस्क और कैंप भी लगेंगे।
