The MV Odyssey, a US cruise ship operated by Villa Vie Residences, has suspended its multi-year around-the-world voyage in Cambodia, leaving 203 passengers stranded. The company cited soaring fuel expenses, which have reportedly quadrupled from $1,800 to $8,000 per cabin monthly in parts of Asia, as the reason for the suspension. Despite attempts to reduce consumption, the operator stated it could no longer sustain the operating losses. Passengers were given little notice to disembark, with some expressing disappointment and alleging mismanagement.
