HC Proposes Rs 20 Lakh Costs On Haryana Depts For 18-Year Road Project Delay

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has proposed imposing costs of Rs 10 lakh each on the director general (town and country planning) and Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) due to an 18-year delay in land acquisition for sectoral roads and basic infrastructure. Observing "complete red-tapism and inaction," the court stated that homebuyers should not suffer due to systemic inefficiency. The bench directed the Gurgaon municipal corporation, HSVP, and the town and country planning department to provide timelines for land acquisition and construction within four weeks.

पंजाब और हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने सेक्टर सड़कों और बुनियादी ढांचे के लिए भूमि अधिग्रहण में 18 साल की देरी के कारण डायरेक्टर जनरल (टाउन एंड कंट्री प्लानिंग) और हरियाणा शहरी विकास प्राधिकरण (HSVP) पर 10-10 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना लगाने का प्रस्ताव दिया है। "पूर्ण लालफीताशाही और निष्क्रियता" को देखते हुए, अदालत ने कहा कि घर खरीदारों को प्रणालीगत अक्षमता के कारण पीड़ित नहीं होना चाहिए। पीठ ने गुड़गांव नगर निगम, HSVP और टाउन एंड कंट्री प्लानिंग विभाग को चार सप्ताह के भीतर भूमि अधिग्रहण और निर्माण के लिए समय-सीमा प्रदान करने का निर्देश दिया।
