Kashmir Flycatcher Migrates Annually Across India

The Kashmir flycatcher, a small bird slightly larger than a sparrow, undertakes an annual migration each spring. It travels thousands of kilometres from its wintering grounds in southern India and Sri Lanka. The bird arrives to breed in the temperate forests of Kashmir as new leaves emerge on trees like Parrotia and walnut. Little is currently known about this migratory species and its journey.
