The Hindu · india
The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has received over 1,500 objections to its plan to fell 1,128 trees for the Hebbal Short Tunnel Project. Objections primarily cite concerns about species diversity, the sheer number of trees, and potential impacts on the microclimate and biodiversity. The National Green Tribunal has currently restrained the Bangalore Development Authority from felling any trees pending the case hearing. Activists had initially requested an extension for submitting objections due to the lack of uploaded species lists.
