Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the Modi government, stating it has transformed India from the 'mother of democracy' into a 'muzzled democracy'. He alleged that the BJP-RSS is displaying cowardice by detaining youth, students, lawyers, journalists, and activists who question the regime. Kharge asserted that detentions and force cannot deter the Indian people. He pledged that the Congress party and united opposition will fight this 'tyrannical regime' to defend democracy, the Constitution, and fundamental rights.

कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने मोदी सरकार की आलोचना करते हुए कहा कि उसने भारत को 'लोकतंत्र की जननी' से 'दबाव वाले लोकतंत्र' में बदल दिया है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि भाजपा-आरएसएस शासन पर सवाल उठाने वाले युवाओं, छात्रों, वकीलों, पत्रकारों और कार्यकर्ताओं को हिरासत में लेकर कायरता दिखा रही है। खरगे ने जोर देकर कहा कि गिरफ्तारियों और बल प्रयोग से भारतीय लोगों को रोका नहीं जा सकता। उन्होंने वादा किया कि कांग्रेस पार्टी और एकजुट विपक्ष इस 'तानाशाही शासन' से लोकतंत्र, संविधान और मौलिक अधिकारों की रक्षा के लिए लड़ेंगे।
