Farmers to March on Chandigarh Dec 7 Over Unmet Demands

The Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) has announced an indefinite protest in Chandigarh starting December 7, accusing the Punjab government of failing to meet its commitments. Farmers and labourers will march towards Chandigarh if their demands are not addressed before the deadline. Key demands include government procurement guarantees for various crops at prices based on the Swaminathan Commission formula, a complete loan waiver, and compensation for farmer suicides. They also seek the withdrawal of the revised land pooling policy and resolution of river water disputes.

किसान मजदूर मोर्चा (KMM) ने चंडीगढ़ में 7 दिसंबर से अनिश्चितकालीन विरोध प्रदर्शन का ऐलान किया है। KMM ने पंजाब सरकार पर वादे पूरे न करने का आरोप लगाया है। अगर उनकी मांगें समय सीमा से पहले पूरी नहीं हुईं तो किसान और मजदूर चंडीगढ़ की ओर मार्च करेंगे। मुख्य मांगों में स्वामीनाथन आयोग के फॉर्मूले पर आधारित कीमतों पर विभिन्न फसलों की सरकारी खरीद की गारंटी, कर्ज माफी और किसान आत्महत्याओं के लिए मुआवजा शामिल है। वे संशोधित भूमि अधिग्रहण नीति को वापस लेने और नदी जल विवादों को सुलझाने की भी मांग कर रहे हैं।
