Times of India · entertainment

Actor Manoj Bajpayee asserts that women have been steadily leading Bollywood films for years, challenging the notion of a solely male-dominated industry. He cited actresses Vidya Balan and Kajol as prime examples of this gradual but significant shift. Bajpayee noted that the rise of OTT platforms has further accelerated the frequency of women-led stories due to lower financial stakes compared to theatrical releases. He also observed that OTT has created new opportunities for male actors previously overlooked by mainstream cinema.
