Bombay High Court Allows MTP for Teen Cancer Patient To Start Treatment

The Bombay High Court has permitted the medical termination of pregnancy for a 14-year-old girl diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. The court considered a report from J J Hospital, which stated that terminating the over-25-week pregnancy is necessary to save the mother's life and allow her cancer treatment to begin. The girl, a sexual assault survivor from West Bengal, was diagnosed with a malignant bone tumor that has spread to her lungs.

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने स्टेज 4 कैंसर से पीड़ित 14 साल की लड़की के लिए मेडिकल टर्मिनेशन ऑफ प्रेगनेंसी (एमटीपी) की इजाजत दे दी है। कोर्ट ने जेजे अस्पताल की रिपोर्ट पर विचार किया, जिसमें कहा गया था कि मां की जान बचाने और उसके कैंसर के इलाज को शुरू करने के लिए 25 सप्ताह से अधिक की गर्भावस्था को समाप्त करना आवश्यक है। पश्चिम बंगाल की यौन उत्पीड़न की शिकार यह लड़की, एक घातक हड्डी के ट्यूमर से पीड़ित पाई गई थी जो उसके फेफड़ों में फैल गया था।
