This decision came after similar closures in neighbouring Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah, prompted by efforts to contain oil from a leaking tanker. The UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is assessing the potential environmental impact. Residents have reported unusual odours along the coast, though authorities state they do not pose a health risk.
