Google DeepMind and Google.org have joined forces with ICRISAT to create an open-access global genetic atlas. This initiative aims to identify optimal plant combinations, particularly for sorghum, accelerating the development of resilient and productive varieties. Google DeepMind will also fund a three-year fellowship at ICRISAT to develop genome mapping tools for other crops like chickpea and groundnut. The collaboration seeks to unlock the potential of climate-resilient crops and enhance global food security through advanced AI tools.
