Man Accused of Cheating Italian Designer Dies In Jail

A 36-year-old man arrested for allegedly defrauding an Italian jewellery designer of €900 (approx. Rs 98,000) by promising marriage and requesting funds for AI videos has died in Bhondsi jail. Akhil Maurya's condition worsened on Monday morning, and he was declared dead at Civil Hospital, with sources suggesting cardiac arrest. Police are investigating the circumstances of his death, and a postmortem will be conducted under magistrate supervision. Maurya was arrested after the Italian woman filed a complaint in Gurgaon, having met him on Instagram.

शादी का झांसा देकर AI वीडियो के लिए पैसे मांगने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार 36 वर्षीय अखिल मौर्या की भोंडसी जेल में मौत हो गई। उस पर इटैलियन ज्वैलरी डिज़ाइनर से 900 यूरो (लगभग 98,000 रुपये) की धोखाधड़ी का आरोप था। सोमवार सुबह उसकी तबीयत बिगड़ी और सिविल अस्पताल में उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया गया। सूत्रों के मुताबिक, मौत का कारण कार्डियक अरेस्ट बताया जा रहा है। पुलिस मौत के कारणों की जांच कर रही है और मजिस्ट्रेट की निगरानी में पोस्टमॉर्टम कराया जाएगा। इटैलियन महिला की शिकायत पर गुरुग्राम पुलिस ने उसे गिरफ्तार किया था, दोनों की मुलाकात Instagram पर हुई थी।
