Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has returned to his village in Maharashtra following his grandmother's death, just hours after being released from detention. The CJP had planned a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, which was thwarted by police. Over 7,000 people were detained during the crackdown. Dipke stated that CJP co-convenors would hold a press conference in Delhi and vowed the group would not be intimidated, calling the event the "beginning of the end of this dictatorship.".
