Mohali Akali Leader Resigns Citing Neglect of Backward Classes

A district-level leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Mohali has resigned from all party posts and primary membership. Chaudhary Shyam Lal Gujjar Majriyan cited alleged neglect of grassroots workers and inadequate representation for the backward classes community in organisational decisions. He specifically questioned appointments in the Kharar assembly constituency, where he claims the BC community, comprising 80% of the population, lacks sufficient representation. Majriyan stated his commitment to community welfare and party workers' interests outweighs holding positions. SAD has not yet responded to his allegations.
