Hindustan Times · politics

President Donald Trump has reignited his focus on Greenland's strategic importance, announcing on Truth Social that massive oil, gas, and mineral exploration is set to commence. He asserted that the Arctic island possesses vast, easily accessible oil reserves and significant military value. Trump believes Greenland will serve as a crucial shield for both the United States and Europe against future military threats. This statement revives his earlier 2019 proposal to purchase Greenland from Denmark, which was rejected by Danish and Greenlandic leaders.
