UK Boy, 9, Starts Food Bank With £40; Now Supports 5,000 Annually

Times of India · good-news

Isaac Winfield, inspired by footballer Marcus Rashford, began a food bank at age nine with £40 of groceries. Six years later, his initiative, Friends of Isaac’s Food Bank, has expanded to six sites across Redditch. The community-run service now supports approximately 5,000 people annually, assisting around 300 families each week. The food bank operates with a low-friction model, allowing people to take what they need without formal assessments, and relies on volunteers and donations.
