India Party Demands Election Chief Resignation

India's 'CJP has threatened nationwide protests if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign by Saturday. The satirical group, founded in May, is demanding Kumar's removal following reports of altered voter lists. Opposition parties accuse the commission of manipulating lists to favour the ruling BJP. The CJP previously played a role in forcing the resignation of a minister. Protests are planned to begin in Mumbai on October 2 if Kumar does not step down.

सीजेपी' ने चेतावनी दी है कि अगर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार शनिवार तक इस्तीफा नहीं देते हैं, तो वे पूरे देश में विरोध प्रदर्शन करेंगे। मई में बने इस व्यंग्यात्मक समूह ने वोटर लिस्ट में हेरफेर की खबरों के बाद कुमार को हटाने की मांग की है। विपक्षी दल चुनाव आयोग पर सत्ताधारी बीजेपी को फायदा पहुंचाने के लिए लिस्ट में धांधली का आरोप लगा रहे हैं। 'सीजेपी' पहले भी एक मंत्री के इस्तीफे में भूमिका निभा चुका है। अगर कुमार पद नहीं छोड़ते हैं तो विरोध प्रदर्शन 1 अक्टूबर को मुंबई से शुरू होंगे।
