French Army Tanks Not Deployed Against Student Protesters, Misinformation Debunked

France24 World · world

Viral online content has falsely claimed the French army deployed tanks against protesting students. One TikTok video misleadingly showed an armoured vehicle returning to a military base, not engaging protesters. Other posts recirculate old footage from different demonstrations and feature AI-generated images presented as real events. This wave of misinformation highlights the spread of manipulated and out-of-context content during periods of social unrest, complicating public understanding of current events.
