Times of India · india

Nearly 300 shopkeepers in Vasco's Mormugao municipal market and surrounding areas shut their businesses for half a day on Friday. This action was taken to express solidarity with vendors who lost their livelihoods in a fire at the modern market complex late Wednesday night. The shopkeepers, accompanied by affected vendors, offered prayers for their well-being. They also urged the government to expedite compensation and financial assistance to help the traders recover and restart their businesses.
