Market regulator Sebi is reviewing position limits for non-agricultural contracts to enhance liquidity and market depth while maintaining robust risk controls. Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey stated that market design should facilitate contract growth, potentially using phased approaches for agricultural commodities before mandatory physical settlement. Sebi is also addressing GST-related issues affecting commodity market participants and working to reduce structural friction. Efforts are underway to strengthen investor awareness through Project Jagrook, ensuring participants understand both the utility and risks of commodity derivatives.

बाजार नियामक सेबी लिक्विडिटी और बाजार की गहराई बढ़ाने के लिए नॉन-एग्रीकल्चरल कॉन्ट्रैक्ट्स के लिए पोजीशन लिमिट की समीक्षा कर रहा है, साथ ही मजबूत जोखिम नियंत्रण भी बनाए रखेगा। चेयरमैन तुहिन कांता पांडे ने कहा कि बाजार डिजाइन को कॉन्ट्रैक्ट ग्रोथ को सुविधाजनक बनाना चाहिए, जिसमें एग्रीकल्चरल कमोडिटीज के लिए फिजिकल सेटलमेंट से पहले चरणबद्ध तरीके का इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है। सेबी कमोडिटी मार्केट के प्रतिभागियों को प्रभावित करने वाले GST से संबंधित मुद्दों को भी संबोधित कर रहा है और स्ट्रक्चरल फ्रिक्शन को कम करने के लिए काम कर रहा है।
