KGMU, RMLIMS Patients Face Medicine Shortages, Forced to Buy Costly Drugs Elsewhere
Times of India · health
KGMU and RMLIMS in Lucknow are reporting a significant shortage of prescribed medicines at hospital pharmacies. This forces them to purchase essential drugs from private stores at much higher prices, often three to four times the subsidised rate. The issue is particularly critical for cardiac patients requiring multiple medications post-procedure. While hospital officials state that medicine inventories are regularly maintained and audits are underway, patients are bearing the brunt of increased out-of-pocket expenses and potential treatment disruptions.
