Husband Arrested For Murder After Woman Missing

A man has been arrested in Madurai for allegedly murdering his wife, who had been missing for over a year. Police recovered skeletal remains from a quarry, believed to be those of the victim, Amaravathy, 34. Her husband, Maharaja, reportedly told her mother that Amaravathy had eloped, but later confessed to the murder. The motive appears to be Maharaja marrying another woman this year, leading to frequent quarrels. He allegedly pushed Amaravathy into a quarry in May last year after an argument.
