Air India to Pay Rs 2.5 Lakh to Family For Lost Luggage After 11 Years
Times of India · india
An Ahmedabad family was forced to spend Rs 2.2 lakh on clothes and essentials in Singapore after Air India lost their luggage in January 2015. Eleven years later, the Gujarat State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ordered Air India to reimburse Rs 1.5 lakh for the expenses and pay an additional Rs 1 lakh in compensation. The commission reasoned that the family's purchases were necessitated by the airline's failure to deliver their belongings. While allowing reimbursement, a 25% deduction was made as the clothes were used after returning to India.
