A man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape of a 10-year-old girl who was undergoing cancer treatment. The court in Panchkula also imposed a fine of Rs 63,000 on the convict. He was arrested in November 2022 after the survivor's mother filed a complaint. The public prosecutor highlighted the extreme gravity of the crime, noting the convict had abused the child multiple times and threatened her life. The defence claimed the man was falsely implicated without concrete evidence.

एक व्यक्ति को 10 साल की एक बच्ची से रेप के मामले में 20 साल की जेल की सज़ा सुनाई गई है, जो कैंसर का इलाज करवा रही थी। पंचकूला की अदालत ने दोषी पर 63,000 रुपये का जुर्माना भी लगाया है। पीड़िता की मां द्वारा शिकायत दर्ज कराने के बाद उसे नवंबर 2022 में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। सरकारी वकील ने अपराध की गंभीरता पर ज़ोर दिया, यह बताते हुए कि दोषी ने बच्ची का कई बार शोषण किया और उसकी जान से मारने की धमकी दी थी। बचाव पक्ष ने दावा किया कि व्यक्ति को बिना किसी ठोस सबूत के झूठा फंसाया गया है।
