Hyderabad is set to enhance its animal care infrastructure with the establishment of new facilities to bolster stray dog sterilisation and vaccination efforts. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) plans to open two new centres in Katedan and Shamshabad. Additionally, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) will revive a defunct centre in Nizampet within six months. These expansions aim to augment existing services and intensify management of the stray dog population across the city. The Katedan centre alone is expected to perform 70-80 sterilisation surgeries upon becoming operational.
