India is set to trial its Digi Yatra facial recognition system for international travel, expanding beyond domestic flights., a passenger trial will commence at seven major airports: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chennai, and Amritsar. Initially, the facility will be available for select Indian travelers with e-passports on Air India and IndiGo international flights. This system aims to streamline the airport entry process by using facial scans for identification, though traditional documents will still be required for immigration.
