Cusat Teachers Allege Dilution of Academic Standards

The Cochin University Teachers’ Association (CUTA) has criticised the recent reconstitution of various Boards of Studies at Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat). CUTA alleges that the appointments, which include junior faculty as chairpersons and exclude senior professors, could dilute academic standards. The association expressed concern over the proposed reconstitution of around 45 BoS, noting their crucial role in framing curricula and setting examination standards. CUTA claims the appointments were based on lists from organisations aligned with the administration, not academic merit.
