US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order waiving newly-passed Russia sanctions, citing national interest and a bid to lower energy prices amid the US-Israel war on Iran. This move, which includes waiving sanctions on Russian diesel sales until April 2027, has angered Ukraine, European partners, and US officials. Ukraine's President Zelenskyy called the diesel deal a "gift" to Russia, while US Congressman Don Beyer stated the waiver "betrays our Ukrainian partners." European Union countries continue to import Russian gas, leading Trump to accuse them of hypocrisy.
