Illegal Sand Stockpile Guarded Overnight By Officials After Seizure

Revenue department officials in Haveri spent the night guarding 146 metric tonnes of illegally stockpiled sand near Haralahalli village. The operation began after receiving information about sand being stored along the Tungabhadra River. Suspects fled before officials arrived, leaving their identities unknown. Trucks were unavailable to immediately transport the seized material, prompting the revenue team to remain on the riverbank until the morning of. The sand was eventually moved with the help of machinery and handed over to the police.
