University of Madras Financially Stable, Has Own Funds to Pay Salaries Till December

The University of Madras has achieved considerable financial stability, with its Registrar Rita John stating that it has been meeting salary and pension obligations from its own revenue since April 2026. The university has set aside funds to cover expenses until December and aims to sustain these commitments through its resources until March 2027. Significant progress has also been made in clearing certificate printing backlogs, with 5.5 lakh certificates printed. The Ramanujam Institute of Advanced Study in Mathematics will soon receive a new building funded by alumni.
