Karnataka HC Allows Civic Body to Seal PG Accommodations Violating Laws

The High Court of Karnataka has permitted the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) and its constituent corporations to seal paying guest (PG) accommodations that are not petitioners in ongoing cases and are operating in violation of established norms. Justice Suraj Govindaraj passed this order while monitoring the enforcement of safety and other guidelines for PGs. The GBA’s counsel confirmed readiness to take strict action against non-compliant PGs. The court granted time for petitioner-PGs to comply but allowed action against others violating regulations.

कर्नाटक हाईकोर्ट ने ग्रेटर बेंगलुरु अथॉरिटी (GBA) और उसके अधीनस्थ निगमों को उन पेइंग गेस्ट (PG) आवासों को सील करने की अनुमति दे दी है जो चल रहे मामलों में याचिकाकर्ता नहीं हैं और स्थापित मानदंडों का उल्लंघन कर रहे हैं। जस्टिस सूरज गोविंदराज ने पीजी के लिए सुरक्षा और अन्य दिशानिर्देशों के प्रवर्तन की निगरानी करते हुए यह आदेश पारित किया। GBA के वकील ने गैर-अनुपालन वाले पीजी के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई करने की तत्परता की पुष्टि की। अदालत ने याचिकाकर्ता-पीजी को अनुपालन के लिए समय दिया लेकिन नियमों का उल्लंघन करने वालों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की अनुमति दी।
