Congress Alleges Special Voter Revision Led To Deletion Of Genuine Voters
The Hindu · india
The Congress has cited an opinion piece from The Hindu to allege that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is causing the deletion of genuine voters. Jairam Ramesh stated that the SIR is destroying the spirit of Article 326 of the Constitution and disenfranchising millions. He also claimed that 2.96 crore voters were removed from Uttar Pradesh's electoral rolls during the SIR, the highest number among states.
