Two Election Commissioners' Letters to Cabinet Secretary Now Revealed Via RTI

An RTI query has revealed that two Election Commissioners, Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, sent letters to the Cabinet Secretary, bypassing the Chief Election Commissioner. The Cabinet Secretariat received these letters, assigning them diary numbers and responding. These responses were also sent to the Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training and the Chief Election Commissioner's office. The letters reportedly concerned an order on work distribution, which was allegedly withdrawn after their objection.

एक आरटीआई (RTI) सवाल से पता चला है कि दो चुनाव आयुक्त, डॉ. सुखबीर सिंह संधू और डॉ. विवेक जोशी, ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त को दरकिनार करते हुए कैबिनेट सचिव को पत्र भेजे थे। कैबिनेट सचिवालय को ये पत्र मिले, उन्हें डायरी नंबर दिए गए और जवाब भी दिया गया। ये जवाब कार्मिक और प्रशिक्षण विभाग के सचिव और मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त के कार्यालय को भी भेजे गए थे। कथित तौर पर ये पत्र काम के बँटवारे के एक आदेश से संबंधित थे, जिसे उनकी आपत्ति के बाद कथित तौर पर वापस ले लिया गया था।
