Sudden showers brought relief from the heat across Vellore town and neighbouring districts including Ambur, Vaniyambadi, and Tirupattur on Wednesday. The daily temperature in Vellore dropped to 32.9 degrees Celsius due to the rainfall. Low-lying areas experienced waterlogging and unscheduled power cuts, while strong winds uprooted trees and damaged Tangedco poles. Officials noted an increase in water flow into the Palar River, which is expected to benefit approximately 35 farming villages by recharging groundwater.

बुधवार को वेल्लोर शहर और अम्‍बूर, वाणियम्‍बडी और तिरुपत्‍तूर सहित पड़ोसी जिलों में अचानक हुई बारिश से गर्मी से राहत मिली। बारिश के कारण वेल्लोर में दैनिक तापमान 32.9 डिग्री सेल्सियस तक गिर गया। निचले इलाकों में जलभराव और अनियोजित बिजली कटौती का अनुभव हुआ, जबकि तेज हवाओं ने पेड़ों को उखाड़ दिया और Tangedco के खंभों को नुकसान पहुंचाया। अधिकारियों ने पालार नदी में जल प्रवाह में वृद्धि देखी, जिससे लगभग 35 कृषि गांवों को भूजल पुनर्भरण से लाभ होने की उम्मीद है।
