A former tech executive fired after sleeping in a sauna during a work trip has won the right to pursue nearly ₹964 crore in compensation. Shannon Burns, formerly vice president of engineering at Gitpod, was dismissed in June 2023 following an incident during a team-building event in Austria. She later won a disability discrimination case against the company. Gitpod, owned by OpenAI, attempted to limit her claim to £1 million, but a tribunal rejected this, allowing her to pursue the larger sum based on potential future earnings and losses.
