Madras HC Reserves Order on Ex-Minister's Plea

The Madras High Court has reserved its order on a plea filed by former DMK minister E V Velu. Velu sought to quash a case registered against him concerning alleged irregularities in allocating Rs 3.23 crore. These funds were meant for road improvements across the state under the Integrated Road Infrastructure Development Project. The case stems from a complaint alleging funds were released to private companies without work completion, causing financial irregularities.

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने पूर्व DMK मंत्री ई. वी. वेलू की याचिका पर अपना फैसला सुरक्षित रख लिया है। वेलू ने उन पर लगे 3.23 करोड़ रुपये के कथित अनियमितताओं के मामले को रद्द करने की मांग की थी। यह पैसा इंटीग्रेटेड रोड इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर डेवलपमेंट प्रोजेक्ट के तहत राज्य भर में सड़कों के सुधार के लिए था। यह मामला निजी कंपनियों को काम पूरा हुए बिना पैसे देने और वित्तीय अनियमितताओं के आरोप से जुड़ा है।
