Goa's government has postponed its plan to ban four dog breeds: pit bull, rottweiler, cane corso, and dogo argentino. This decision follows legal challenges filed in the Kerala and Delhi High Courts against the Centre's ban on 23 ferocious dog breeds, which have resulted in a stay order. The state government had sought public opinion, with approximately 98% of 170 respondents objecting to the ban. Officials noted that most people believe any dog can be aggressive, not specific breeds.

गोवा सरकार ने पिट बुल, रॉटवीलर, केन कोरसो और डोगा अर्जेंटीनो जैसी चार खूंखार कुत्तों की नस्लों पर प्रतिबंध लगाने की अपनी योजना को टाल दिया है। यह फैसला केरल और दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट में केंद्र द्वारा 23 खूंखार कुत्तों की नस्लों पर लगाए गए प्रतिबंध के खिलाफ दायर कानूनी चुनौतियों के बाद आया है, जिसके चलते स्टे ऑर्डर जारी हो गया है। राज्य सरकार ने जनता की राय मांगी थी, जिसमें लगभग 170 लोगों में से 98% ने प्रतिबंध पर आपत्ति जताई थी। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि ज्यादातर लोगों का मानना है कि कोई भी कुत्ता आक्रामक हो सकता है, न कि कोई खास नस्ल।
