Powerful 7.6 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Panama, Triggering Tsunami Warning

A significant 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Panama on Friday morning, causing buildings to shake and prompting residents to evacuate into the streets. The earthquake's epicenter was located southwest of Pitaloza Arriba, near the country's southern coast, at a depth of 10 kilometers. Tremors were felt across Panama City and in parts of neighboring Colombia. Following the event, a tsunami warning was issued for the coasts of Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. Panama's Civil Protection agency is currently assessing potential damage near the epicenter.
