Hearing a plea from YSRCP alleging violence prevented candidates from filing nominations, the court directed the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission to defer publishing the final candidate list until October 25. The bench also ordered the state DGP to provide adequate security to candidates and election offices. The court clarified it was not directly intervening but allowing the SEC to consider grievances and ensure free and fair elections are not compromised.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि चुनावी प्रक्रिया में विश्वास जगाना संवैधानिक लोकतंत्र के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। वाईएसआरसीपी की इस याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए कि हिंसा के कारण उम्मीदवार नामांकन दाखिल नहीं कर पाए, अदालत ने आंध्र प्रदेश राज्य चुनाव आयोग को 25 अक्टूबर तक अंतिम उम्मीदवार सूची प्रकाशित करने से रोकने का निर्देश दिया। पीठ ने राज्य के डीजीपी को उम्मीदवारों और चुनाव कार्यालयों को पर्याप्त सुरक्षा प्रदान करने का भी आदेश दिया। अदालत ने स्पष्ट किया कि वह सीधे हस्तक्षेप नहीं कर रही है, बल्कि SEC को शिकायतों पर विचार करने और यह सुनिश्चित करने की अनुमति दे रही है कि स्वतंत्र और निष्पक्ष चुनाव से समझौता न हो।
