Europe Flights Face Third Day of Hoax Bomb Threats; Jets Scrambled

Hindustan Times · world

Commercial flights across Europe received hoax bomb threats for a third consecutive day on Thursday, prompting fighter jets from Italy, France, and Bulgaria to scramble. Emails signed "the fighters of the Male State" targeted several low-cost carriers, particularly flights to and from Bulgaria, Italy, and the Czech Republic. While three aircraft were diverted and at least five received military escorts, all planes landed safely with no explosives found. The threats included misogynistic language and warned of explosions, though their connection to known extremist groups remains unclear.
