Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has sharply criticized the BJP government in Haryana, calling its 12-year tenure a "complete failure." He cited rising crime, record unemployment, and mounting public debt, stating the state has slipped in development indicators. Hooda highlighted that state debt has surged from ₹70,000 crore in 2014 to ₹5.5 lakh crore, with over 2 lakh government posts vacant. He also pointed to Haryana ranking 14th nationally on NITI Aayog's SDG report and a drop in its Export Preparedness Index.
