India Sees 15-Year High Gross FDI, 5-Year Peak Net FDI in Q1 FY27
Business Standard · business
India recorded its strongest quarter for foreign investment in 15 years, with gross FDI reaching $30.66 billion in Q1 FY27. However, significant repatriation and outward investments by Indian companies reduced the net FDI. Despite this, net FDI reached a five-year high of $7.84 billion in the same quarter. While gross FDI has shown strong growth, net FDI has not kept pace historically, with repatriation averaging a much higher percentage in recent years compared to the past.
