BJP Says India Celebrates Democracy After SC Notice To Poll Body

The BJP stated that India is functioning democratically after the Supreme Court issued notices to the Election Commission and the Centre regarding pleas to remove the Chief Election Commissioner. BJP MP Sambit Patra asserted that all institutions are working independently without fear. The Supreme Court sought responses within a week on a plea alleging the CEC took decisions without the approval of the other two Election Commissioners. The court refused an interim order but indicated it could reconsider decisions found to be unilateral.

बीजेपी ने कहा कि भारत में लोकतंत्र काम कर रहा है, क्योंकि Supreme Court ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त को हटाने की याचिकाओं पर चुनाव आयोग और केंद्र को नोटिस जारी किया है। बीजेपी सांसद Sambit Patra ने कहा कि सभी संस्थाएं बिना किसी डर के स्वतंत्र रूप से काम कर रही हैं। Supreme Court ने एक हफ्ते में जवाब मांगा है, एक ऐसी याचिका पर जिसमें आरोप लगाया गया है कि CEC ने बाकी दो चुनाव आयुक्तों की मंजूरी के बिना फैसले लिए। कोर्ट ने अंतरिम आदेश देने से इनकार कर दिया, लेकिन कहा कि अगर फैसले एकतरफा पाए गए तो वे उन पर फिर से विचार कर सकते हैं।
