This donation was made on January 9, 2026, when Gupta was an AAP Rajya Sabha MP. He later joined the BJP in April this year along with six other MPs. AAP's total disclosed contributions for 2025-26 were ₹12.10 crore, with Prudent Electoral Trust and Trident Limited being major contributors. Gupta, a Padma Shri awardee, is a first-generation entrepreneur with a net worth of $1.2 billion.
