This intensified crackdown by the IT department on the film industry is reportedly investigating charges of tax evasion and money laundering. आयकर विभाग ने अभिनेत्री रकुलप्रीत सिंह और फिल्म निर्माता वासु भगनानी सहित कई प्रमुख बॉलीवुड हस्तियों के ठिकानों पर बड़े पैमाने पर छापे मारे हैं। यह कार्रवाई कथित कर चोरी और वित्तीय अनियमितताओं को लेकर की गई है। अधिकारियों को शक है कि फिल्म फाइनेंसिंग की आड़ में बड़ी रकम विदेश भेजी गई हो सकती है। आयकर विभाग की ओर से फिल्म उद्योग पर इस कड़ी कार्रवाई में कर चोरी और मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग के आरोपों की जांच की जा रही है। विभाग उन वित्तीय लेन-देन की जांच कर रहा है जिनसे पता चलता है कि बड़ी रकम विदेश भेजी गई थी।
