India captain Shreyas Iyer acknowledged his team is still adjusting to the varied ground dimensions in New Zealand following their defeat in the fourth T20I in Auckland. He stated that the bowlers, unfamiliar with the unique playing fields, found it challenging, with the loss serving as a learning experience. Glenn Phillips' exceptional 107 off 49 balls propelled New Zealand to 259/7, a target India couldn't reach, finishing at 172/9. Iyer emphasized the need for introspection and adaptation for the upcoming final match.
